In Plain Sight is part of my ongoing exploration of how light shapes our perception of the familiar. I am drawn to moments when changing light and atmosphere transform an ordinary subject, allowing us to see it in a new way. In this work, the roses are not intended as symbols, but as a familiar subject through which I explore the relationship between light, perception, and the passage of time. As light reveals some forms while others recede into shadow, the painting reflects the idea that our experience of the world is always incomplete. We see only fragments, shaped by where our attention rests and by the ever-changing conditions around us. In these moments, light becomes more than a way of describing form—it becomes a way of reflecting on how we experience the passing of time.
The painting is done on an aluminum panel and will be shipped this way. The painting will be shipped with the frame. Framed photo of the painting on the wall is not the actual frame and is shown for representational purposes only.
